European Ryder Cup captain Colin Montgomerie withdrew from this week's European Masters in Crans-sur-Sierre, where qualifying begins for next year's European team. He cited fatigue in making the announcement Sunday after a closing-round 71 left him tied for 31st place at the Johnnie Walker Championship in Scotland.
