The Bob Hope Classic is under way in the California desert (although that desert is seeing rain this week), and it’s good that the PGA Tour has kept the name of the legendary entertainer as part of the tournament title.
Hope, who died in 2003 at the age of 100, wasn’t just an avid golfer, he was a voracious golfer. And he was very good, too, getting into the low single digits in handicap and even playing in a British Amateur championship in the 1950s.
Over the years Hope had a lot to say about golf – much of it self-deprecatingly directed at his own skills. Check out these Bob Hope quotes about golf.
