Did you know that in 2000, 4,484 sets of Callaway Golf irons were put in play across the world’s five major pro tours, and nearly half were X-14 Irons? That same year, Annika Sorenstam used her X-14 9-iron to ace the 16th hole from 132 yards at the Welch’s/Circle K Championship. She won the tournament and secured her spot in the LPGA Hall of Fame. In total, pros notched 28 wins with the X-14 Irons across the five major tours in 2001. In 2004, Mark McNulty used the irons to earn three victories, the Outback Steakhouse Pro-Am, the SBC Championship and the Charles Schwab Cup Championship.

X Tour Irons were introduced in 2005 with a forged, two-piece construction made entirely from soft, 1020 carbon steel. This unique design allowed the X Tour Irons to incorporate core Callaway Golf technologies into a true Tour-player’s iron. In late 2004, Phil Mickelson used a prototype version of the X-Tour Irons to shoot 59 at the PGA Grand Slam of Golf. He went on to earn four more wins with the clubs in 2005, including a major, two more wins in 2006, including The Masters, and the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am in 2007. Michael Campbell also used the X Tour Irons to win the U.S. Open in 2005, and Momoko Ueda used them to notch four victories in 2007 and another in 2008.

The X-Forged Irons debuted in 2007 for elite golfers seeking the ultimate in shot-making and distance control, with a notch back lade forged from soft 1020 carbon steel. They also featured a Flighted Center of Gravity Design for superior feel and trajectory control. Phil Mickelson used the clubs to win The Players Championship and the Deutsche Bank Championship in 2007. Mark McNulty used the X-Forged Irons to win the 2007 JELD-WEN Tradition Championship, and Morgan Pressel used the clubs to win the 2007 Kraft Nabisco Championship and become the youngest winner ever of an LPGA major championship.
